About JWJCSA

James Weldon Johnson Community School of the Arts (JWJCSA)

The James Weldon Johnson Community School of the Arts (JWJCSA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization devoted to making arts education accessible to all. Guided by the belief that a strong foundation in the arts is essential for emotional, intellectual, and social development, we work to create opportunities for individuals and families to explore their creativity in a supportive, uplifting environment.

Established in 1999 and inspired by the legacy of James Weldon Johnson—a celebrated writer, educator, and champion of social change—JWJCSA offers arts instruction led by professional artists trained at some of the world’s most renowned institutions. Our programs emphasize diversity, excellence, and innovation, reflecting our commitment to meeting the evolving needs of our community.
